To any readers out there, here is another entry for today:
I wish I liked Sundays. I really do. But Sundays feel like that fake friend who smiles at you all day while quietly whispering, “By the way… tomorrow is Monday.” At least Mondays are honest about what they are. They don’t pretend to be something they’re not.
Today was both lazy and productive. I made returns, ran errands, and even chipped away at grading. I went to the park and watched ducks live their best, responsibility-free lives. Then I stopped at a coffee shop that had tiny plastic ducklings, which felt both comforting and slightly unhinged. Picture down below.

Back to the quizzes, I finished grading pottery quizzes. We tested the students on ancient Greek pottery types. The average was a 74%. Not catastrophic… but not thrilling either. Which means somewhere out there, amphorae are being mistaken for kylixes, and I am not okay.
Now, I already know what’s coming. A handful of students love to argue their grade. And normally, I get it — essays are subjective, interpretations can vary. But this quiz? You either know the pot and what it’s used for… or you don’t. There isn’t really a secret third option.
I am actually a pretty fair — dare I say generous — grader. We gave them every piece of information they needed. Photos. Labels. Clear explanations. It was practically a pottery starter pack. College students… why does reading the material feel like a personal attack? ….It’s meant to help you!….I swear!
Huuu….I will likely still get an earful. If only the passion for arguing could be redirected toward studying.
Anyway. Sunday wins again. Wish me luck! Cheers 🥂
22 days left until the quarter ends.
