Day 4: Chronicles of my stressful life. — My Social Battery Flatlined

Hello to any readers still out there:

Welp… today was….definitely a day.

I returned to work and was immediately greeted by a mountain of quizzes, meetings, and “quick updates” about new papers (nothing is ever quick). The pile of grading has achieved sentience at this point. I suspect it’s reproducing when I’m not looking.

Before that, though, I had a thrilling morning battle with my garage door. It would not open. Maintenance arrived, opened it. Victory? No. Now it will not close. So that’s stable. Love that for me.

Work itself was draining in a way that should be studied. I feel like I spoke to every single person on my floor. My social battery? Gone in 0.2 seconds. The universe really said: engage.

To make matters worse, I skipped breakfast because maintenance took forever to respond, and I skipped lunch because I was drowning in papers to sort through. It was chaos. Academic chaos. Once I left the office, I stopped at Starbucks, secured a sandwich, and went home to the emotional support counsel (my cats). Thank goodness for them and their floofy faces.

Today was mentally exhausting. Truly. I am counting down the days until this quarter ends.

Anyway. We persist. Happy Monday!

21 days left until the quarter ends.
